Let's Get Started! 🎉

1
Select 4 Colors of Thread
Choose your favorite colors! Pick threads that look great together. Popular combinations include rainbow colors, pastels, or your friend's favorite colors.

2
Cut 64cm of Each Color
Measure and cut 64 centimeters (about 25 inches) of each colored thread. This length will give you enough thread to make a bracelet that fits most wrists with room to tie.
3
Tie Threads Together
Gather all 4 threads and tie them together in a knot at one end. Leave about 2-3 inches of thread above the knot - this will become part of the bracelet's tie.
4
Secure Your Work
Tape the knot to a flat surface or use a safety pin to attach it to a pillow or your pants. This keeps your work steady while you braid.
5
Spread Out the Threads
Arrange the 4 threads side by side in the order you want your colors to appear. This will be your starting position for the friendship bracelet pattern.
6
Make Your First Loop
Take the leftmost thread and place it over the second thread to create a loop. This is the beginning of your first knot.
7
Pull Through the Loop
Gently pull the first thread through the loop you just made. Pull it tight to create a knot at the top of the second thread. You've made your first knot!
8
Make a Double Knot
Repeat steps 6 & 7 with the same two threads. You should now have 2 knots at the top of the second thread. Double knots make your bracelet stronger!
9
Continue Across All Threads
Using the same leftmost thread, make 2 knots on the 3rd thread, then 2 knots on the 4th thread. Your first thread should now be on the far right!
10
Start the Next Row
Now take the new leftmost thread (which will be a different color) and repeat the double knot technique, moving from left to right across all threads.
11
Keep Going!
Continue this pattern - always using the leftmost thread to make double knots across all other threads. Keep going until your bracelet is long enough to fit around a wrist.
12
Finish Your Bracelet
When your bracelet is the right length, tie all threads together in a knot at the end. Cut off any extra thread, leaving about 2-3 inches for tying.
13
Ready to Share! 🎁
Congratulations! Your friendship bracelet is complete and ready to give to a special friend. The best part about friendship bracelets is sharing them!
